Judge Langford Morris, was appointed to the Oakland County Circuit Court in August of 1992, elected in 1994, and re-elected in 2000 and 2006.  Oakland County’s first African American Circuit Court Judge, is the longest serving female judge presently on the Oakland County Bench and brings a diversity of experience with her.  The Honorable Denise Langford Morris is a candidate to be nominated for the Michigan Supreme Court. In addition to her Juris Doctorate Degree, she has a Master of Arts Cum Laude in Guidance and Counseling from Wayne State University. She spent several years working for the State’s Department of Social Services as a protective services investigator, first for disabled adults and senior citizens – and then for abused and/or neglected children.


She is the candidate whose entire career has been on the front lines balancing Michigan justice as a judge, an attorney, an investigator.

The Michigan Supreme Court is the highest court in the state hearing cases appealed to it from the Court of Appeals. In addition to its judicial duties, the Court is responsible for the general administrative supervision of courts in the state.
